Flex Dollars - Each meal plan comes with a certain amount of Flex Dollars per semester. These dollars can be used at Boyd Dining Center, the Harbor Grill and the Coastal Market during normal business hours. Flex Dollars are great to use for special events and themed dinner nights in the Boyd Dining Center. You can use them to bring a friend or family member to eat at our dining facility as well. Any balance left over in your Flex account will roll over from the fall to spring semester. Unused balances at the end of the spring semester will not be refunded.

Marlin Dollars - Students may also use Marlin Dollars at Boyd Dining Center, the Harbor Grill and the Coastal Market to purchase food. Marlin Dollars are tax free, dollar for dollar, funds that are linked to each Student ID. Students or their parents may add money to their accounts through the Office of Finance and Administration throughout the year. Unlike Flex Dollars, which expire at the end of the spring semester, Marlin Dollars do not expire.

Meal Equivalency - During designated periods, students are allowed to use one of their weekly meal or semester meal swipes toward a purchase at the Harbor Grill. A "meal swipe" is equivalent to $3.50 during the lunch period and $3.75 during the dinner meal period. If your food purchase goes over the meal swipe equivalency, a student can use Marlin Dollars, Flex Dollars, cash and/or credit to pay for the remaining balance. Lunch Meal Period for equivalency: 10:45am - 4:45pm; Dinner Meal Period for equivalency: 4:45pm-8:00pm.
